We take concerns about Alternative Electricity Services (AES) registration holders seriously and have power to investigate a variety of issues related to an AES registration holder's obligations.
- If you have a complaint about your AES provider, the first step to resolve the problem is to contact the AES provider directly. For more information, see Who can help if I am having a dispute with my provider?
- If you are unsure whether your AES provider is registered, you can check the AES Public Register to ensure the organisation is a registered AES provider.
- Individual customer matters fall outside our regulatory responsibility. If your concern relates to an What the ERA cannot investigate, you may be able to raise the concern with another agency.
For more information on our role, see The ERA's role in administering the AES framework. We review every concern we receive to understand the issues raised and refer concerns to other agencies if needed.
Information from the public provides us with valuable insight about the AES providers we regulate and contributes to our understanding of the sector and how AES providers are governed.
